Since we've hung up our cover band work and devoted ourselves to writing and producing, we have released two albums to date.
Our first album, Cornerstone, was a very fun project to work on. During this process we rekindled our creative juices and had a challenging time learning how to produce, use the tools, mix and master. We are quite happy with our first attempt and overall think the album is very good. It's wide variety is held together by our collective voice and individual styles. We do hope that you enjoy and spread the word.
Cornerstone contains the following Songs:
Movin - The Second Number we created. Psuedo Jazz and lots of Sax (with some Atlanta Rythym Section Guitars Thrown in for Fun) American Way - A Tribute to our Service Boys. Quite poignant. Big Horny - A Quasi-Funk / Big Band Number with even more Sax Escape - A Striker original about longing for another while committed to New Spain - Cathead does Yanni (sort of). Orchestral build up leads to Screaming Guitars (Sorry Wilbert) Cold Comet - When the band separated for 8 months, would we see each other Yesterday - An interesting tune about childhood memories with a funk section thrown in for good measure. Dead Center - Striker's anthem about life on the road. LynChiCooper - A Cathead compilation of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chicago and Alice Cooper styles. Very ethereal. Wilbert's Folly - A tribute to a big schmuck we used to play out with. Very funny. Something Strange - Our First Number we created. Kinda Strange and Dancy.
Album two, "Long Road Home", is even better. The compositions are strong and the tricks we learned in recording Cornerstone are paying off.
American Dream - A resurrection of a Neckstrap Original from the 80s. Bloody Lane - A woodstock reflection with some Antietam allegories. Funky Shoes - Cause everyone needs a pair of Pseudo-70s Slap and Jive. Put 'em on! Long Road Home - Taking the long road back to yourself. Mahti - Because Neckstrap plays so well. We created this for him (with a Boston Accent) No One Listens - A dramatic ressurection of another Neckstrap original from the 80s. From Reggae to Rock Sea Farer - A Striker Celticy Number complete with bagpipes and penny whistles. Sirens - A Enya-esque tune of lurring sirens. Somethings Never Change - Never letting go, a Cathead original with Striker Melodies and Longings. The Core - A Cathead Psycho Tune. Don't know it just happened. Thinking of You - A Cathead instrumental from the 80s updated with 09 Striker Lyrics and Vocals. Whispers - A Jazz Quartet, somewhat Keith Jarretty. |
